The order of the day is self flagellation, the ping is low and the cloth is a little touch dirty. That's right, it's geek humor day!I won't pretend that that I am in some way higher than the sphere of the nerd I am, at the moment, inside it's bowls, writing this article. I do plan to look at, nevertheless, the kind of web, code and video game related satire located on custom shirts .

From the insides of a western community, populated by relatively miserable people,, laughter is an remarkable thing. It can bring ease, self-acceptance and to some extent absolution. And we designate nerds the function of whipping boys in our comedy. Virtually any high school movie usually has them to some level always being beaten up physically or otherwise. When in contrast to the movies, however, the proverbial 'coming out of the shell and obtaining the girl' is a fairly uncommon occurance.

Nope. I can tell you that anyone who dedicates substantial quantities of their life to games, coding or star trek is going to have a completely different sense of ease with the world in comparison with a lazy playboy. And I do not want to say less happy, simply because happiness is a choice really, I consider that one's nerd-life can provide happiness if one is sufficiently.... umm englightened. But the important phrase is 'at-ease'. I don't care who you are, if you converse solely with computers, day after day, you become like a computer yourself and, upon returning to the real life it becomes monstrously difficult for one to communicate with one's genuine fellow human beings.

Such challenges are indicated in shirt titles including "Life would be so much easier/ if we only had the/ Source Code". As you can notice this sort of humor extends to the dark places inside people, and provides absolution,, and regardless of what they tell you, to uncover the hardcore net-head's genuine interior conflicts you basically need to glimpse at their t-shirts. For where ever there is laughter there is also a factor of pain.
At this point, don't presume that i'm just hunting for examples to support myself, (although it is a little hard to avoid) but all the geek t-shirt humor I have experienced was found on custom t-shit websites, near the top of REAL best-selling lists.

It is a very useful way to, if not prove, establish the claim that the dark side of humor is a keyhole by means of which the real lives of numerous may be witnessed. First point, is that they are being obtained by a lot of people. Secondly, the shirts themselves were all made by the buyers.

"Video games destroyed my life/ Luckily I have two remaining". On the surface it's amusing, however if you should have even a remote inkling of a inclination towards the type of pondering we have just been participating in, it will almost certainly leave you feeling quite miserable! I do not really know how to explain it: someplace between a longing for the safety of their well-recognized wonderland, and a bitter grin upon the face of unfavorable conditions.
However this isn't the form nerd humor usually takes, right? Right? On the Tv and web-comics and any other mass media you can expect that nerd comedy ultimately ends up being a vast mixture of video-game in-jokes and obscure pop-culture references, combined with some coding slang and a goofy chortle. Which suggests to me that the t-shirt, as a means of communication, has something about it which is more inherently earnest.

Just about all the goofy pop-culture references are nested far away inside the recesses of pages 30 to 50 of the best sellers.
So, I wonder, why might t-shirts have all this dismal inference about them? On the behalf of the consumer, there is an elementary wishing to have their struggles represent them , something which they believe to be, in some respects, quite noble. If you would like a Freudian take on it all: children in pain always wish to expose that pain completely to their mothers - such that they will obtain comfort and attention. But that is a bit harsh really. So, Mr Author, what makes you so fantastic, you are seated at a pc noodling away right this moment aren't you? Churning out odd posts about nerds and t-shirts? Well, let me tell you. Laughter is not the only kind of absolution.
